Responding to the latest Welsh Government announcement on 29 January, Children’s Commissioner for Wales Sally Holland said:
“We heard a direct message from the First Minister today acknowledging the difficulty and distress facing children and young people of all ages.
“19,000 children have already shared their views with me this week. The results are stark; many are finding the current situation very challenging.
“We want to see all pupils return to face-to-face learning; today’s announcement is a step in the right direction. Discussions need to be urgent, solution-focused, and draw on learners’ experiences, so that we can see our collective ambition become reality after half term.”
