Responding to Welsh Government’s announcement about school return, Professor Sally Holland, Children’s Commissioner for Wales, said:
“It’s a huge relief that our youngest learners can now look forward to returning to schools imminently and that Welsh Government is on track to enable more pupils to return soon. It is evident from every consultation that pupils of all ages want to return to face-to-face learning as soon as possible and I’m certain that this is also the ambition of school staff. Pupils need to return to school for various reasons, including socialising and support, not just for educational purposes.
“Let’s continue to work together to suppress community transmission so that there’s enough head-room to enable all pupils to return as soon as possible.”
