Eisteddfod yr Urdd Activities 2022

Activities on the Maes

Come and see us in our tipi next to Mr Urdd’s village. We will be on the maes Monday to Friday.

We have so many fun activities for children and young people where they can create their own artwork, play in our soft play area, build a house and take part in our outdoor games outside our tipi.

These activities are an opportunity for children and young people to get to know their rights.

We will be holding various activities during the week and on Tuesday and Wednesday there will be an opportunity for the children of Wales to meet their Commissioner – Rocio Cifuentes.

* Please note: These activities will be run every day*

Activities for Children under 7 years old:

The Three Little Pigs – We will be telling the story of the Three Little Pigs and as an activity the children will have the opportunity to build a house for the three little pigs.

Matching Activity – For this activity children need to match-up body parts of the policeman and paramedic. This activity shows how the police and paramedic keep children safe.

Tŷ Hapus (Happy House) – This activity is an opportunity for children to think about the things that make them feel happy. They can write or draw the things that make them feel happy on a piece of paper and then they can peg their answers onto the house.

Teddy’s picnic – Teddy wants to go for a picnic. The children’s task is to create a healthy picnic for Teddy by using play-dough or by drawing the picnic on a paper plate.

Activities for children aged between 7-11 and for young people aged between 11-16:

Body of Rights – This activity is an opportunity for children and young people to think about the things they need to grow up feeling happy, healthy and safe. They will then need to add their list to either the mannequin or the papered version of a body.

Identity – For this activity children and young people need to draw a picture of themselves and include the things that represent their identity.

The tale of a t-shirt – The children and young people’s task is to sort out how a cotton t-shirt is made. They will need to place the pictures in the correct order and peg them onto the clothes line.

ALN (Additional Learning Needs) Equipment

Within our tipi we have a sensory den for children and young people with additional learning needs.
