Our third annual Care Leavers’ event took place last month on a glorious summer’s day in the breath-taking St Donat’s castle.
Children and young people from all over South Wales came together to share their experiences of the care system, to meet others, and to take part in fun-filled afternoon activities.
The morning session involved information sharing, discussions on what matters to young people and how the care system could be improved.
In the afternoon, the young people (and staff!) made the most of the day’s sunshine by tackling the climbing wall, trying their luck at archery, and canoeing.
Those looking for a quieter end to a busy day found relaxation in the beauticians’ corner, which included a manicurist, a hairdresser and a henna tattooist.
