We’d heard all about Cathays High’s brilliant school council, so we thought we’d visit to see what all the fuss was about.
To say the least, we were very impressed.
The council boasts several groups, including a SNAG (school nutrition action group), a cyber-bullying watchdog, an anti-bullying group, a group promoting participation through sports and a group dedicated to making new arrivals feel comfortable and at home.
We spent the morning learning about the council’s importance and how it has developed the skills of the pupils involved.
The session ended with a flip cam session where the pupils took active roles in interviewing each other, sharing views and experiences and underlining why Cathays High’s council is so good.
