On 19 October 2020, the Welsh Government announced a ‘fire-break’ lockdown to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. This lockdown lasted between Friday 23 October and Monday 9 November.
During this time, learners in years 9-13 of secondary school and students at further education establishments were told they would have to learn from home for an additional week after the October half term.
On 13 November, we spoke to children and young people affected by this decision. We’ve written a short report which summarises what worked, what didn’t work, and what improvements could be made.
